A fraction simply tells us how many parts of a whole
we have. You can recognise a fraction by the slash
that is written between the two numbers. We have a
top number, the numerator , and a bottom number,
the denominator . For example, 1/2 is a fraction.

The Minstrel and Mrs Minstrel came to our school yesterday. We did some singing and dancing. One Waiata was S.O.S, it was about saving the birds. If the baby birds eat the plastic it will die. The Minstrel said wear a life jacket so we don't drown and sink to the bottom .
